Fire Fists
February! The month of love. Men and women are getting heated together as us YugiNerdz are messing around with scorching new archetypes. Including Fire Fist and Fire Kings.
- Yugioh Wiki
"Fire Fist", known as "Flame Star " in the OCG is an archetype of FIRE Beast-Warrior-Type monsters first introduced in the as Magazine Promotional Cards but from different magazines, and later expanded in Cosmo Blazer. In the OCG, every "Fire Fist" monster, except "Horse Prince", "Lion Emperor", and "Spirit", are named after the 108 heroes of Water Margin, the "108 Stars of Destiny". Only 36 "Heavenly Spirits" seem more important than the 72 "Earthly Fiends", and "Horse Prince", "Lion Emperor", and "Spirit" are characters from the novel while the "Fire Formation" Spell/Trap Cards are named after celestial.
Play Style:
Fire Fists are a very interesting set of monster cards. The Fire Fist monsters by themselves indirectly support each other while a set of Fire Formation Spell/Trap Cards support the archetype as a whole. Fire Fist monsters all share effects that somehow manipulate Fire Formation cards from all over. The most prominent Fire Fist monster cards are control based being able to delete monsters and traps on the field to beat down on the opponent.
Monsters:
- Spoiler:
Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Raven
If this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard: You can Set 1 "Fire Formation" Spell Card directly from your Deck. Face-up "Fire Formation" Spell/Trap Cards you control cannot be destroyed by your opponent's card effects.
Effect: 8/10 - The effect is useful being able to set a Fire Formation card from your deck. And can also protect them from Heavy Storm and MST.
Stats: 3/10 - Being a level 3 in a level 4 oriented deck isn't fantastic. It's stats should be reversed to make it a better card.
Overall: 6/10 - Not a bad card, but there are better cards in the archetype. However this could make a good tech in some Fire Fist.
Recommendation: Don't Run any.
- Spoiler:
Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Snake
Once per turn, if a "Fire Formation" Spell/Trap Card(s) is sent to your Graveyard (except during the Damage Step): You can Set 1 "Fire Formation" Trap Card directly from your Deck. Once per turn, if you control no other monsters: You can send 2 face-up "Fire Formation" Spell/Trap Cards you control to the Graveyard; draw 1 card.
Effect: 3/10 - The effect is utterly useless rarely will you ever use it and when you do your going to draw into a card that utilizes Fire Formation cards better.
Stats: 8/10 - It has one thing going for it, it's one sexy beater. It can easily turn into a 2000 beater to get over monsters like TKRO and Alius.
Overall: 4/10 - Not even mediocre card. Extremely situational and not even an effect that can really help you.
Recommendation: Don't Run Any
