Yes. It doesn't need to be destroyed face-up. Also you posted it in the wrong section.

When this card on the field is destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to the Graveyard: Draw 1 card.

That means it must hit the field, is the summon is negated the you dont get the effect

It doesn't. The errata was translated wrong by the Wikia and BLS got the text from there.
