I feel that with the high speed special summoning that we've seen this format, that Royal Oppression should be brought back as a limited card. Feel free to discuss....

This card is broken lol. Negating 1-9 Special Summons a turn is boss.

I would never really want it to come back..
The card is unbelievably good, and it would just kill so many decks..Hieratics for example. They get completely screwed over..

Just mess up their opening play and it's good game. Then again, both players can use it...

I guess you'd have to use a deck that focuses on regular tributes for it to not affect you as bad. Or start your special summoning when they're low on life points.

Use GK's >.> They aren't too reliant on SS's

I love how everyone hates this card but lets do it this way:

Future Fusion is limited to 1 and it's potential for an OTK from the first hand is insane (skilled Chaos Dragon players will vouch for this)

Royal Oppression you have to A)set it for a turn to even use B)has so many cards that can be used to destroy it as soon as it's activated (MST, Heavy Storm, Dust Tornado, Trap Eater, Lyla, etc....)C)cannot stop fusion summoned monsters D) both players can use it and costs 800LP to even use (figure that in with the costs of the Solemn Brigade alone and how many time you really gonna use it?)

So, why not bring it back at 1? They brought BLS back when everyone said it would never happen. You can still run any deck in the meta with this card limited at 1 and it would just become more balanced. And OZ, most of the Heiratic eff's are considered tributes not special summons. So you can still summon beaters just not go into your Atem loop first turn.

If you take it that way, it could balance the whole thing, but it wouldn't be worth the risk of making it even more unbalanced.

You cant tell me the current format is balanced. There are way too many decks right now that can kill you within the first hand. It's about time that we back off the "whoever goes first, wins" format to a format where a duel lasts more than 4 turns.

I guess you can say that. The fact that both players can use the card makes it a little more balanced.

just think about it, it's 1 card out of 40. The odds of hitting it first hand are .001%

I think it's a fair card, but thing is, Konami wants to make money probably, so putting in a card that would kill the meta decks wouldn't be good for business.

Personally I think it's a fair card because with the statistical probablity of drawing that card in mind, and the backrow hate the past few formats, it's an easy card to take down & it requires a payment to use anyway.

royal oppression shud be limited instead ban mostly the fact in this type of format where you need no skills and you can special summon so easily it can easily even out the game
