I'm trying to make a new signature, but im not sure what tools to use... so any suggestions for how i could make a sig (suggest tools such as pen, vector, etc.)

Usually i would use a brush but from now on i want to find a different way

Try abstract c4ds. It is not that hard to make a half decent signature (our banners are abstract c4d) and it is perfect for beginners. Just be sure to blend everything unless it is a grayscale c4d abstract in which case you would leave your subject and bg grayscale and only have color effects. Why not try making a siggy first and showing it to us, then we can help you in a more in-depth manner. Also search up tutorials.

well i'm not a beginner . Cyrus told me that he uses pen tool and vector masks. Do you mean like you vector mask a image onto a path? Correct? If so what kind of images. I like Cyrus' style so i want to learn something similar to it

I say you should just play around in Photoshop so you can understand it more Thats what i did and yeah you can use some C4ds. Or try to start with a stock and a gradient color of your render and have the gradient blend with the stock and use any effects from that and just play around from there.

simple concept i like to use:
Dupe render layer 3 times
add flowing effect to very bottom, blur outline on 2nd (If you feel u need it), on top you should just use brightness/contrast or sharpening. Blend those 3 in that order to your liking.
A nice way to get a nice background color is to copy ur render image over the transparent background and just blur / smudge that up. (Be sure to smudge with the flow). On that same background layer you could use a texture brush or just merge with a stock for a nice added effect.
Then i guess you could put 1 or few layers below the render and above background of c4d's and brush made designs.(each on new layer for better blending)
and maybe 1 layer above the render to add dimension to it.
Flatten layers below render into background and use color curve / gradient map to work out a nice look. Do the same for above layers.
Then flatten entire image and work with curve/gradient/Contrast map again (maybe u missed something)It's always good to see all your options.
Den Just put ur name on it. P_P
I use those exact steps each time and the results are different everytime.
Sorry if anyone thinks this is bad advice but it's what works for me.

They are your own words, but someone else's concept. PD, you can do a lot with brushes too. The method you use is probably the least that you can do with them. Look at Phoenix's sig. That can be made with brushes. You can even use good brushes in place of c4ds! What you need is blending. Are you familiar with gradient maps? Those help the image quite well if compatible with the style. As I said, just show us what you can do. Make the best signature that you can, and just post it somewhere. Once people know what your strong and weak spots are, then they can offer more in depth help.

I guess he's shy XD
I talked to him irl and he says that he is using PS elements. Apparently PS elements is not photoshop. He wants to get a new photoshop first. Anyways, PD just use brushes. It's not taboo using brushes. As I said, you can do loads of things with them. Just make something and post it.

Btw Relinquished, please don't act so stuck up. People only say you are good because you are a beginner XD Although you have pretty good potential.

I only used it for the kyrios signature that I made. I kinda used it for the gundam one, but I already knew the technique. The only different thing that he did was he made it b/w :/
