The Seal of Orichalcos in my opinion is one of the most famous cards from the original anime. It premiered in season 4 "waking the Dragons" and had the power to take a person's soul and feed it to the great leviathan. In the anime it brought out the evil side of a dueler and betrayed the trust he/she had with their monsters. It was played by rafael, mai valentine, gurimo, valon, rex, weevil and even Yugi. The orichalcos was a fragment from outer space and landed on earth 10,000 years ago in the city of atlantis. It brought out the evil in their leader Dartz and brought the advanced city of atlantis to the bottom of the sea.
THE SEAL'S LEGACY
We all know the story of how duel monsters originated in Egpyt 5,000 years ago and the power of the millenium items. But an even more powerful force from outer space 10,000 years ago and landed in the city of atlantis, it was the Orichalcos stone. The stone corrupted their leader Dartz making him believe that all of his city was evil. The stone unleashed evil creatures that destroyed the city of atlantis and it's people. it fed the souls of the atlanteans to a great beast in the center of the earth, the Great Leviathan. the former leader and his granddaughter were the last two to surive. now in a different dimension, where duel monsters live is also in jeopardy becuase not only does the great leviathan feed on human souls it feeds on duel monster souls. the two atlanteans and the duel monster dimension formed an alliance to fight the army that dartz created, possessed by the orichalcos stone. in the final battle against the leviathan the three legendary dragons tomiaus, hermos, and criteas fought back an managed to defeat the great beast. although it was gone, the great leviathan stayed in the center of the earth to continue feeding of human souls using the orichalcos stone. for 10,000 years the great leviathan has been feeding on the souls the stone manages to get. in the present it is time to unleash the three dragons once more to fight the great beast and destroy the orichalcos stone's power from earth.
THE SEAL'S EFFECTS
Now we can harness the power of the seal when it comes out in the legendary collection 3 Yugi's world Set on october 2nd. It has 3 main abilities, the first one like in the anime gives all of your monsters 500atk and def points. The 2nd ability is that it is extremely hard to destroy. So other articles say that its resistance to heavy storm and Mystical space typhoon, but the only ways I can think it could be destroyed is solemn judgment or another field spell. The 3rd ability says it allows stonger monsters to protect weaker ones. Many people are confused about this part but I guess that it directs an opponent's attack to the strongest monster on your field. If only it took the soul of the loser, there would be very few noobs left. These effects haven't been confirmed yet but to my guessing abilities i would say the first effect will be true.
THE LEGENDARY COLLECTION SET
So about the rest of the Legendary Collection 3 set. It comes with 7 extra cards. The ultra rare Seal of Orichalcos, It also comes with Bakura's necrofear, Rafael's guardian eatos, and the big fives five-headed dragon and these all come in ultra rare. It also comes with 3 ultra rare tokens, 2 kuriboh tokens and 1 gorz the emissary of darkness token. Along with that you get 5 mega-packs which are packs of 9 cards and in each you get 1 rare, 1 super rare, 1 ultra rare, 1 secret rare, and 5 commons. In these mega-packs you can collect classic cards from the original anime like the secret rare dark magician girl (which i'm very excited about ^.^). There are many cards that are higher in rarity that are still used today in decks like monser reborn, heavy storm, book of moon, bottomless trap hole, etc...
so get ready to unleash ultimate power that sunk Atlantis in your deck. Here comes the Seal of Orichalcos!
