Well each of them is good in their own way and everyone has a different opinion.

If we're talking about the game, then Pokemon is better. Everyone played those gameboy advance games either on an emulator or in real life at some point. Yugioh is popular too, but pokemon just felt better to play when it came to the console games.

If we're talking about the trading card game, Yugioh of course. Pokemon had the stupidest rule set in opinion. Yugioh was plain and simple. e

If we're talking about the anime, Yugioh again by miles. Better characters, better storyline, and wasn't shown as a kids show.

Yu-Gi-Oh.
For the simple reason that way more people play it, and I like friends.

Btw, don't even TRY to compare Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG/OCG with Pokémon GBA/DS games. They're 2 completely different things.
You can compare YGO to Pokemon TCG though.
